Denver Skyline

Denver Skyline

Here are three additional Restaurants that we dined at in Denver. These are a little more on the budget friendly side than the first three I wrote about. But these three are also very excellent dining choices. You should give each a consideration the next time you visit Denver. If you live in Denver you should put them on your dining out rotation to at least give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

Pad Thai Woon Sen

Pad Thai Woon Sen

The Taste of Thailand

One night we chose a local, neighborhood type restaurant, Taste of Thailand, 2120 Broadway, Denver, CO. 80210.  It is a restaurant that Josh and Julie dine at on a regular basis and a place they use for take out. I have gone to several Thai Restaurants but Pad Thai is the only dish I have ever liked at a Thai Restaurant.

Whole Crispy Fish

Whole Crispy Fish

I decided to order something different and tried the Whole Crispy Fish. It was fried crispy but was not heavy like most fried food. It was so good to eat a fried food that was light and enjoyable!

Taste of Thailand Seafood Tom Kha

Taste of Thailand Seafood Tom Kha

Rosita decided on a soup, Seafood Tom Kha and she enjoyed it very much.  She said the mixture of the seafood with the coconut based soup and seasonings was very flavorful

Taste of Thailand Siam Queen

Taste of Thailand Siam Queen

Julie got a Pad Thai type dish called Pad Thai Woon Sen and Josh had the Siam Queen.

The Restaurant has its own spice garden.  They were giving away several plants that night.  Julie took a couple home and planted them the next day.

The staff at Taste of Thailand were very friendly and helpful.  Do not let the location in a strip shopping area fool you.  This small restaurant that also has a quaint covered outdoor eating area is excellent.  We had a very memorable experience  and I am very glad because my horizons have been widened in regard to Thai food.

Blackbird Public House

The Blackbird Public House

Josh picked out the Blackbird Public House, 305 Downing ST. Denver, CO. 80209, to go to one night. This is another neighborhood type restaurant that he and Julie had been to before.

Blackbird Public House Oysters on the Halfshell

Blackbird Public House Oysters on the Halfshell

We started with a couple of appetizers. We had a half dozen each of a couple of different oysters on the half shell. I live near the Gulf of Mexico so my all-time favorite are oysters from here. Our oysters for this night were from the east coast. The small ones were ok but the larger ones had a taste close to Gulf of Mexico oysters.

Blackbird Public House Avocado Hummus

Blackbird Public House Avocado Hummus

The next appetizer was avocado hummus with chips and bread. If you like hummus and avocados, which I do, you will love this dish. This dish was worth the trip to this restaurant. If you dine here, make sure to order this dish.

Grilled Salmon Dinner

Grilled Salmon Dinner

For the main meal I chose one of my favorites in the grilled salmon dinner. It was prepared very well and lived up to my expectations.

Shrimp and Grits

Shrimp and Grits

Rosita ordered one of her all-time favorite dishes, Shrimp and grits. She let me have a little taste and we both agreed that it was a hit.

Blackbird Public House Pork Belly BLT

Blackbird Public House Pork Belly BLT

Josh order the pork belly BLT. This was my second choice as BLT and pork belly are 2 of my favorite things but I had never had them together. Josh’s opinion is that they do, in fact work well together.

Blackbird Public House Pizza

Blackbird Public House Pizza

Julie had a pizza that was very good. She shared with us and it was quite tasty. The next day I had a piece heated up for a midday snack and it was still holding up very well.

Blackbird Public House Brussel Sprouts

Blackbird Public House Brussel Sprouts

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Blackbird. The staff was very attentive and made sure every detail was done right. Our waitress was very helpful and on top of things. And one of the managers kept popping in and checking on us. We will definitely go back.

The Noshery, Denver, Colorado

The Noshery, Denver, Colorado

The Noshery

The Noshery, 4994 Lowell BLVD. Denver, CO. 80221, is a small Bakery and Café located next to Regis University. It was started in 2014 and is open for breakfast and lunch. Everything is made from scratch and breakfast is available until they close at 4.

The Noshery Cupcake

The Noshery Cupcake

The only pastry we tried was a small cupcake with MOM written on it. Since we ate on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, I bought it to surprise Rosita. I bought the cholate one because Rosita loves chocolate. I would have prefered the vanilla one, but this was for Rosita, not me.

The Noshery Chicken Salad Sandwich

The Noshery Chicken Salad Sandwich

I had a chicken salad sandwich and chips. Chicken salad is one of my favorites and this one was prepared very well and was very enjoyable.

The Noshery Veggie Sandwich

The Noshery Veggie Sandwich

Rosita had the Veggie Sandwich with hummus, pesto, tomatoes and cucumbers. I prefer meat on a sandwich but Rosita said it was very tasty.

The Noshery Turkey Sandwich

The Noshery Turkey Sandwich

Julie had the turkey sandwich and

The Noshery The Italian

The Noshery The Italian

Josh had the Italian. Both looked very good.

Overall this is a very good neighborhood cafe and bakery. Everything was very well made and if you are looking for a good quality, quiet sandwich, soup or breakfast place you won’t go wrong.
